Iredell Health System’s mission is to meet the community’s needs for quality medical care and health education at a reasonable cost. Iredell Health System is not-for-profit, which means there are no stockholders. All income is used to maintain and upgrade hospital services, to serve the community. The buildings and grounds of Iredell Memorial Hospital are owned by the citizens of Iredell County. The hospital receives no tax dollars and is leased from Iredell County by a local board of trustees. The operation of the hospital is the responsibility of a board of directors elected by, and chosen from among, the trustees.
Iredell Memorial Hospital is a 247-bed, non-profit facility, whose mission is to provide quality healthcare to persons living in Iredell and surrounding counties. The hospital was founded in 1954 and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Iredell Health System maintains a certified Community Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer. They are the only diabetes program throughout the county to be recognized by the American Diabetes Association.
Iredell Health System employs approximately 1,600 people and has approximately 140 physicians on staff representing a variety of specialties. Iredell offers convenient and easy access to state-of-the-art diagnostics and comprehensive health services. Centers of Excellence include Women’s and Children’s; Cardiovascular; Cancer; Surgical Services and Wellness & Prevention. Iredell Health System also includes Iredell Home Health surviving Iredell and surrounding counties and the Wellness Center at Morrison Plantation in Mooresville, NC.
